Swindon Supermarine are expected to unveil their new manager today after John Murphy's sudden departure at the weekend.
Hunts Copse chairman Steve Moore has wasted little time in lining up a replacement, and has already interviewed three candidates for the newly-vacated post.
The Marine supremo has made an offer to his pick of the trio and, if accepted, the new man will be installed in time for training this week.
When former boss Clive Maguire parted company with Marine 11 months ago, the club spent several weeks searching for the right replacement.
Almost a year on, Marine are back where they started rooted to the bottom of the Western Division and Moore is keen to nip things in the bud quickly this time.
"I have spoken to three people and we know who we want," confirmed Moore.
"Hopefully we will be able to make an appointment on Monday."
Potential candidates for the post include Tommy Callinan, the former Gloucester City player-boss, who has been training at Hunts Copse after quitting his assistant position at Cinderford.
Other names rumoured to be in the running are Murphy's assistant Adie Brittain, former Marine boss Alan Dyton, and ex-Swindon Town favourite Paul Bodin, who coaches Marine's New College Academy side.
Meanwhile, Murphy will take a welcome break from football to care for his wife who is recovering from an operation.
The ex-Cheltenham and Trowbridge boss didn't enjoy the best of starts to the new campaign, but will be remembered for steering Marine to safety against all odds last season.
Chairman Moore was quick to praise the efforts of Murphy.
He revealed: "John and I spoke on Friday evening, and for personal reasons he felt the time was right to step down.
"We are all hugely appreciative of what he did for us, especially last year, and we wish him all the best in the future.
"But now we need to look forward."
Murphy was unavailable for comment.
