CHILDREN from Swindon have raised more than £6,000 for leukaemia research.
Around 390 youngsters took part in the Swindon Blue Peter Bikeathon around Coate Water in May. After a final count the amount raised stands at £6,118.62. The event one was one of 71 in the UK, with more than 20,000 children taking part. A total of nearly £500,000 has been raised.
Blue Peter spokeswoman Helen Wilmer said: "It's so encouraging to see all that hard-earned money coming in."
