AGE Concern Swindon is giving away free information packs to help older people have a safer and healthier winter.
The initiative is part of Age Concern Week which runs until Saturday, and is geared towards raising awareness of the work of the charity and the issues affecting the elderly.
Age Concern Swindon director Jo Osorio said: "We may be having a balmy autumn but it's never too early to plan for cold weather.
"Grants to help with insulation can be claimed throughout the year. New claims for the Winter Fuel Payment need to be in soon.
"Our pack will guide readers through all the important things they need to give some thought to."
The packs are waiting to be collected at the charity's Swindon headquarters at 14 Milton Road.
Alternatively, Age Conc-ern is only too happy to post them, and can be contacted on Swindon 692166 or nicola.nowak@ageconcern.org.uk. In addition, the charity runs a free hotline open from 7am until 7pm, seven days a week, and can be reached on (0800) 00 99 66. Its internet site is: www.ageconcern.org.uk
