Bath's England centre Mike Tindall has claimed he was gouged during the drawn west country derby.
Neither referee Steve Leyshon nor his touch judges spotted anything untoward, but both Leyshon and Bath skipper Danny Grewcock were clearly aware of Tindall's anger while he received treatment.
"Someone gouged me someone caught me in the eye,'' said Tindall, who produced an outstanding midfield performance in front of watching England coaches Clive Woodward and Andy Robinson.
"I was annoyed with the referee, because he didn't see it,'' Tindall added.
"I don't know if it was intentional, and it didn't hurt, although it was a bit of a cheap shot.''
Any conclusive video evidence backing up Tindall's allegation could result in the independent Premiership citing commissioner taking action. The recommended punishment for gouging is an 18-month ban.
