CHIPPENHAM entertained Supermarine and Corsham in a mini rugby festival under the new Tag rules at the weekend.

In the under seven section, the hosts and Marine drew six tries apiece while Corsham were beaten eight tries to two by the Swindon side.

At under eight level, Chippenham defeated Corsham by four tries for three, with the second team being edged out two tries to one against Marine.

The under nines began against Corsham and despite a fair amount of possession the visitors' tight defence saw them edge in front 2-1 at the break.

Corsham eventually managed to run in three more tries to Chippenham's one securing their victory, as Michael Allies crossed twice.

Against Supermarine, Chippenham fielded a different line-up and a new face in Ben Cook who scored on his debut.

Supermarine broke through once through Lewis, but Chippenham led 3-1 at half-time and kept the lead until the final whistle, as Allies added another.

Corsham proved the dominant force in this section, beating Marine 6-0.

Chippenham opened up their under 11 campaign with a thumping 30-0 win over Corsham.

The try scorers were Jacob Emery, Olivia Johnson, Matt Burrows, Jay Pickering and Louis Blackburn, who scored twice.

A changed line-up against Supermarine drew 5-5 as Johnson scored again, Marine going on to edge out Corsham 3-2 on tries

Against Supermarine Under 12s, Chippenham proved just too strong and ran in 13 tries for a 65-0 win.

Corsham however, were harder going before Chippenham took the spoils 20-0. Corsham defeated Marine by nine tries to nil.
