Wootton Bassett Ladies travelled to Oxfordshire side Witney in their second South West East 3 League game, but were soundly beaten 41-5.
Bassett were hoping to build on their 45-10 opening-day triumph over Ivel Barbarians but, despite a good start, Witney quickly notched up two tries for a 10-0 lead.
Bassett then clicked and, with a quickly taken penalty by no 8 Toole, the ball was moved wide and centre Bev Webster rounded the defence to score out wide.
Bassett, playing with many debutants, held on well but the more experienced Witney team started to dominate and crossed the line twice more in the first half.
Bassett started the second half as they had finished the first, but Witney scored three further tries, all of which the home fly-half converted.
Coach Paul Schimmel said: "We will be working on the way we set the ball at breakdowns. We seemed to lose a few balls that we should have really made secure."
