Chippenham 2nds romped through their hastily-arranged fixture against Bishopston, winning 68-0.

Within two minutes of kick-off, Chippenham found themselves defending their line, but they broke out and left wing John Billett had a simple run to the line.

Chippenham's pack proved too strong for their opponents and after 25 more minutes of domination from set-pieces, the Bishopston front row capitulated and the referee determined uncontested scrums.

Even with this disadvantage, Chippenham won more strikes against the head and the tries came thick and fast.

The score would have been even greater had Chippenham kicker landed more than four of the 12 conversions.

Tries came from Treen (2), Davies, Greenwood, Squires, Shuker and Watkins to take their points tally from four games beyond the 200 mark

n Chippenham's third team came down to earth with a bump after being thrashed 51-5 by Combe Down.

Having started the season with resounding victories, an effective and organised Down side showed more desire to win.

Stung by two early tries, Chippenham found it hard to retain good possession and struggled to find their rhythm.

Two more tries quickly followed for Combe Down which gave them a half time score of 27-0, a lead they richly deserved.

In the second half, although Combe Down picked up where they left off, before Chippenham finally began to show their form.

The backs began to compete and cut holes in the Combe Down defence.

One such break by Chris Davis ended with a try under the posts for Micky Dyer.

But Down were swift to punish any errors and ran out convincing winners.
