IN a typical 38-week touring season, this mobile community of around 80 people including the circus's own electrician, engineers, mechanics, plumber, carpenter and office staff travels some 2,500 miles.
During the tour they will use 1,000 gallons of fuel for generators and transport plus a further 400 gallons per week in cold weather.
All caravans are supplied with running water and electricity, which the circus generates itself.
The specially-made big top measures 40 metres across and is 13 metres high.
Uniquely-domed to accommodate the complex rigging for the aerial acts, it takes seven hours to put up and three hours to pull down.
And its design with fewer poles than a conventional tent, provides the audience with a better view.
