At last the people of Swindon have been proved right this council has been under-performing and not doing the job for which they were elected.
Perhaps now faced with the prospect of government intervention they will put aside their egos and their party differences and begin to undertake the task for which they were elected.
This could be a great town if they concentrate on sorting out the basics first schools, social services, the traffic chaos, clean up the run down areas, and provide the basic requirements of a would-be city a decent library, theatre, concert hall, all affordable if they put the grandiose ideas on the back burner and spend the money where it is needed.
I have listened to Kevin Small, the new leader of the council, on the radio and he seems to have the will and determination to put the needs of the people of this town first.
For some it is going to be a total change in thinking, but I am sure that if they are seen finally to be doing what needs to be done they will have the support of us all.
