AN arson investigation has been launched following a barn fire in Highworth. The fire happened at The Buildings on Eastrop Farm, just outside the village, and led to £16,000 of damage.
The flames took hold quickly around 2.30pm on September 24, destroying a Dutch-style barn and its contents of bales of straw.
The barn was opposite Wrag Barn golf course.
Three fire engines tackled the blaze.
Police have appealed for information about any suspicious activity in the area.
Those with information have been asked to contact Highworth police on (01793) 762251.
Guy Dibble, 42, the dairy farmer who works Eastrop Farm, was involved in a blockade at the Dairy Crest depot in Stroud last week.
The demonstration was organised to protest against low milk prices being paid to farmers by supermarkets.
