CHIPPENHAM Town will be looking to bounce back from their FA Cup disappointment when lowly Moor Green visit Hardenhuish Park on Saturday 5 October.

A home game against a side lying third from bottom of the Premier Division table would appear to present an ideal opportunity for the Bluebirds in their bid to return to winning ways.

The Moors finished seventh last season but endured a dreadful start to the campaign, picking up just a single point from their first six matches and scoring only twice in the process.

But a brace from Marvin Blake gave them a morale-boosting 2-1 win over Tiverton Town on September 7 and, although they were defeated 2-0 by bottom club Ilkeston in their next game, the midlanders take a five-match unbeaten run into Saturday's clash.

Their recent upturn in fortunes is largely down to the form of prolific striker Nathan Lamey, the club's top scorer with 31 goals in 45 outings last term. The ex-Aston Villa and Wolves trainee returned from a three-match ban to score a last minute winner against Bath City and grabbed a second half equaliser at Newport four days later.

Lamey made it four goals in three games with a double strike in Moor Green's 4-1 FA Cup win at Western Division Bedworth United on Saturday.

Bruising former Wimbledon and Birmingham forward John Gayle is likely to partner Lamey up front but has yet to score this season.

Ex-Birmingham and Northampton midfielder Dean Peer could miss the game due to a calf injury, but better news for the visitors is that highly-rated summer signing Guy Sanders should return from a knee injury to take his place in defence.

Last season's player of the year Adam Rachel will start in goal and has been in fine form again this term.

Chippenham and Weymouth meet for the third time this season when the Bluebirds travel to the Wessex Stadium on Tuesday night.
