WYLYE Valley carpenter Jo Berrington has been granted a licence from Aga-Rayburn to build children's models of its products.

Miss Berrington, who lives in Steeple Langford and makes garden offices and playhouses, was asked to build a model Aga following a commission for a playhouse.

Having completed the task, she was encouraged to write to the managing director of Aga-Rayburn about it.

"At best I felt I would get a 'good luck' reply, but in fact the managing director phoned in person on receipt of my letter and photos," she said.

"And within two weeks he came from Telford to see the pretend cooker. He was very taken with the concept after all, if you have an 'Aga' as a child, you will surely settle for nothing less as an adult."

Since then Miss Berrington has been to Telford for talks, on a tour of the factory and has now been given the Aga-Rayburn approval and licensing to use their logos.

"It is a benchmark for my work and a great personal achievement," she said.
