VILLAGERS of Crudwell put their best feet forward in a fun run on Sunday to help fulfil a woman's dying wish.
Father-of-two Simon Thompson, 40, and five others spent three months organising the event to raise money to build a sports complex, which was the last wish of his wife Rebecca, who died of cancer earlier this year, aged 39.
More than 150 runners of different ages took part in the seven-mile run, in a circuit around the village.
The event raised £1,000 for the sports complex, which will be built in the grounds of the village hall and offer facilities for tennis, basketball, netball and football.
Villager Lesley MacPherson, who helped organise the event, said: "It went fantastically.
"There were some serious runners on the ten kilometre run, the children ran on the playing fields and there was a two-and-a-half kilometre run around the village, and they were all well attended.
"It was a superb day, so much so that we are going to do it again next year. All the little ones got certificates at the end, and everyone else got a medal."
