Honours were even in last night's Hellenic Premier Division derby, as a late Phil Ward equaliser earned Fairford a 1-1 draw with visiting Highworth.
John Fisher's side dominated the opening period and took a deserved lead on 23 minutes when Russ Jones upended Matt Saye in the Fairford area and Dave Webb stroked home the spot kick.
Jones was booked and later saw red for a second cardable offence.
Fairford responded well after going behind and Mark Webb's troops were dominant for most of the second half, but looked to be heading for defeat as a host of chances went begging.
It was left to Ward to snatch a point, heading home in the 80th minute after a goal-mouth scramble.
Webb said: "I'm frustrated because I thought we dominated after they scored."
Fisher said: "I'm disappointed. We lost Jamie Mills and Justin Miller before the game and Warren Fuller had to come off before half time. That obviously didn't help.
"But after taking the lead I was disappointed that we didn't take all three points."
Glenn Armstrong cemented his position as the new darling of Calne Town last night. The super striker's treble helped his side to an excellent 4-2 win at Bristol Manor Farm.
Darren Smart scored the other as Calne moved away from the lower reaches of the Screwfix First Division for the first time in more than a year.
