CHARITABLE Charlie Forward and the Old Geezers Motorcycle club set off on an 80-mile round trip to raise money for disabled bikers.

Twenty five riders set off from The Naffi Car park in Warminster on Saturday 28 September and ended up at Three-Legged-Cross Motorcycles in Winbourne. On their way back they stopped off at Proper Charlie at Westbury where a raffle was held.

There was a range of prizes on offer, from motorcycle gloves to binoculars.

The money raised from the raffle went to the National Association for Bikers with Disabilities.

Mr Forward said that the day was a success and that £60 had been made for charity.

"It was a good day and everybody enjoyed themselves," he said.

"There were certainly no complaints from the lads and it may not sound like a lot of money, but every little bit helps."

The Old Geezers usually organise charitable events for children but Mr Forward said that this had been specifically for the disabled.

"We're planning to do another event at the end of the year to raise money for the children's Christmas presents," he said.

The prizes for the raffle were donated by Hayball Motorcycles (Sailsbury), Roy Vincent Motorcycles, David Wiltshires, Car Mart (all Warminster), Phoenix Motorcycles, The Pit (both Trowbridge) and Sprint Motorcycles (Upton Level).
