Tom Jones has faced plenty of challenges during a distinguished professional football career.

But the new Swindon Supermarine boss knows nothing compares to the pressure of the Hunts Copse hot seat.

He is the fourth man to take on the job in little over a year, following John Murphy's departure last weekend.

During that time, Marine's one foray off the bottom of the Western Division coincided impeccably with the end of last season.

But Jones has a masterplan to avoid a continued struggle total football.

The player/boss is a keen advocate of the attractive passing game rarely seen on the battlegrounds of the Dr Martens League.

"We want to play a short passing style," he confirmed. "I want to bring in players who are footballers.

"You have to have a couple of grafters as well, but I want players who are comfortable with the ball.

"I've got a formation that I want to play, and I'll be bringing in the players to fit the system."

New assistant Alan MacDonald another County Ground old boy echoes Jones' sentiments.

"The club have had a difficult start and we've got to try and turn it around quickly. The way we are going to do that is to start playing football the right way."

Jones has already released Nick Beaverstock, Lea James and Gary Swann.

He has yet to recruit though, so some of the club's talented youngsters will be given a first team chance when new-look Marine travel to Gresley tomorrow.

The Derbyshire side are managed by former Leeds man John Newsome and occupy a top-eight spot.

While Jones and co look to win in style, former boss Murphy was quick to defend his chosen style of play and the 'dogs of war' he drafted in during his 11-month stint.

"I came in to do a specific job," he said. "My remit was to keep the club up and I did that.

"I had to get the right type of player in to do that job the type that might not be the best footballer, but they would run through a brick wall for you.

"Those players deserve a lot more respect than they get."

Murphy is now expected to take a break from football to concentrate on other aspects of his life.

"I wasn't enjoying it at Supermaine and I'm not looking for an immediate return to football my wife has just had an operation and I will be spending some time working in America."

Likely Marine team: Titcombe, Oke, Smith, Davis, Smart, Jones, Donnelly, Adams, Bennett, Collier

Cirencester travel to Redditch hoping that last week's win over Rugby United wasn't another false dawn.

Ciren's previous two league wins were punctuated by three heavy defeats, so another positive result at Redditch may indicate the Centurians have turned the corner.

Ciren will field almost the same side that won 2-0 last Saturday.

The only omission is the influential Keith Knight who made both the Ciren goals.

The experienced winger has to attend his sister's wedding, so Toby Clarke may get the chance to stake a claim for a regular starting berth.

Manager Brian Hughes may also pick up a couple of Supermarine players as new boss Tom Jones has a clear out.

Likely Ciren line up: Glassup, Radcliffe, Fraser, Mayo, S Hopkins, Smith, Clarke, Hughes, G Hopkins, McCabe, Gee

Chippenham Town hope to get back to doing what they do best tomorrow grinding out league results.

The Bluebirds' encouraging start to life in the Dr Martens Premier was dampened by last Saturday's customary early FA Cup exit a 4-1 mauling by Weymouth.

Now boss Tommy Saunders reverts his attention to the 'bread and butter' of league action and a home meeting against lowly Moor Green.

Despite last week's shocking setback, Saunders will tweak his side rather than ring the changes.

Colin Towler looks set to return after recovering from cracked ribs.

The veteran defender should replace Shane Andrews who struggled against Weymouth.

Matt Rawlins will also be in contention, and new signing Gary Horgan should slot into a central midfield role at the expense of Mark Badman.

Despite the Moors' bottom-three status, their current form should worry Saunders.

After an awful start, the Midlanders have lost just one of their last six, a run that includes wins over Town's local rivals Bath and Tiverton.

Likely Chippenham team: Bittner, Robinson, Thorne, Gould, Towler, Horgan, Brown, Harrington, Paul, Rawlins, Griffin.

Odds: Chippenham 4/7, Moor Green 4/1, Draw 13/5
