WHEN someone in the family is dying it can be easy to hold up your hands and surrender to the inevitable. But a close-knit family from Codford is making a desperate bid to find a cure for their 32-year-old daughter.
Julia Hember was diagnosed with leukaemia earlier this year and needs a bone marrow transplant before Christmas.
So far, her three brothers and parents, Paul and Mary, have managed to get more than 600 people to give a blood sample. This sample is then screened to see if a match can be found.
The Wiltshire Times has now teamed up with the family and is urging everyone to come forward and give hope to, not only Julia but thousands of sufferers worldwide.
You can make a real difference in just a few minutes. All that is needed is a quick blood sample which is taken by a nurse. Even the transplant is not as hard as you may think.
Doctors from the area have offered the use of their surgeries and special days have been organised.
This could be anyone's child and our readers have the chance to make a unique contribution no-one else can take your place.
Perhaps only you could save Julia's life. A test takes a minute of yours.
