PRAYERS will be said for the victims of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington at a special mass Swindon this month.
The memorial mass comes 13 months after the attacks on September 11, 2001, and will be led by the head of Swindon's Roman Catholic community, Monsignor, Richard Twomey.
The service, taking place at Holy Rood Church in Groundwell Road on Sunday, October 20, at 11.30am has been organised by Masi Francesco, a former Italian soldier, now living in Swindon.
Mr Francesco, 67 of Broad Street, has arranged similar services in the past, last year organising a service for the victims of the Paddington rail accident. On that occasion, more than 550 people packed into the church to pray for the families and victims of the accident.
