A SPOT the ball competition has raised a further £1,500 for four-year-old cancer sufferer Charlie Jarvis.
The competition was run by Denise Chesterman, 50, of Park North, who works as planning administrator for computer chip maker Intel.
Charlie, of Greenmeadow, has a rare cancer affecting her nerve cells. So far, £75,000 has been raised in case she needs to pursue a second course of treatment in Houston, Texas.
Denise, who managed to raise £1,545.26 for the Charlie Jarvis fund, said: "It is such a wonderful cause. I hope that I can continue fundraising for Charlie, and I already have more plans in the pipeline."
Denise approached around 20 companies in the Swindon area to see if they would donate prizes for the competition.
The winner was Kirstie Hursthouse, 30, a personnel officer from Blunsdon, who won a laptop computer package.
She said: "I was absolutely thrilled to win the competition and quite shocked, so I bought a lottery ticket as well in case this good luck continues!
"I hadn't thought about the prize, I just wanted to help the Charlie Jarvis appeal."
"It is such a lovely cause."
Running alongside the spot the ball competition was a raffle. Taking the first prize of a Sony digital camera was Sarah Button, of Abbey Meads. Second prize of a weekend stay in the Marriott hotel was won by Simon Roberts, of Chippenham, and the third prize of a CD player and radio was won by Mr Guinness of Pinehurst.
