A LARGE congregation of relatives, friends and customers was present at the funeral service for the late Pam Andrews of Cricklade.
Mrs Andrews was the manageress of Baileys News in the town for 21 years, retiring in July but continuing to work part-time at the High Street shop.
She died suddenly on August 31 at her home in Saxon Close and is survived by her husband Harry, son Stephen, grandson Alex and sister Dawn Neale.
The service at Kingsdown Crematorium, Swindon, on September 12 was conducted by the Rev Stephen Oram, vicar of Cricklade and Latton, and attended by more than 100 people.
The homily was given by a director of Baileys News and licensed reader Robina Bailey.
She said that Mrs Andrews had been much appreciated by customers and staff for providing a good and friendly service.
Hard working, she had built up the business and had been devoted to the efficient running of the shop.
