A THREE-month old baby died suddenly and unexpectedly in her sleep, an inquest was told.
Swindon Coroners Court heard how Alice Ataide-Lobo usually slept in the same double bed as her father David and mother, Claire Sutcliffe, at their Zulu Farm Cottage home in Ashbury.
But on the night of May 17 this year she had gone to sleep with her father at around 10pm, as Ms Sutcliffe wanted a rest before feeding in the early hours.
The inquest heard that when Ms Sutcliffe entered the bedroom to feed Alice at around 3.15am she noticed she was not breathing.
Desperate attempts to revive her failed and she was pronounced dead on arrival at Princess Margaret Hospital at 4am on May 18.
No sign of bruising or asphyxia was found on the body.
Recording a verdict of death by natural causes Mr Masters said: "She died of some unexpected death in infancy. After a detailed investigation Sgt Deegan told me with certainty there were no suspicious circumstances."
