OCTOBER sees the launch of breast cancer awareness month and staff at Cannons Health Club are putting on a brave front to support it.
Nine women are throwing their weight behind raising money for the charity with special fundraising activities planned throughout the month.
During the month you can join the gym for £25 and for every new member who signs up, Cannons will donate £5 to charity.
Collection boxes and the pink-ribboned Breast Cancer Awareness badges will be on sale throughout the month, and on October 24 there will be a special sale of hand-crafted cards, with all commission going straight to charity. Assistant manager Nicola Dawkins, said that the collection boxes had already started to fill up.
Nicola, 34, said: "In our first day we have had four new members sign up which is really good news. That's £20 already towards the charity.
"Some of us went out to buy new bras for the photograph and found that a lot of stores are donating money when a bra is bought.
"We hope to raise awareness throughout the month by doing our bit."
Cannons is in Greenbridge Retail Park, Garrard Way.
