There are very real worries about the level of policing in Swindon.
We have received several calls from readers concerned about the speed of response to calls.
Swindon Police say all genuine emergencies are met with an instant response. But they must act to reassure others who do not feel their inquiries are being satisfactorily answered.
Allowing civilians to drive marked-up police vehicles is not the answer, and unions are right to question whether the public are being given a false impression.
