History was made at Highworth Town's ground on Saturday when former Swindon Town schoolboy Ross Adams became the first player to be put on contract by the Hellenic Premier side.
The 18-year-old defender forced his way into Highworth's senior side towards the end of last season, and has gone from strength to strength.
He was recently influential in the Wiltshire Under 18 side's 2-0 victory against Devon, played at Newton Abbott.
The club decided to put the youngster on contract at the suggestion of manager John Fisher and Dave Webb, who think highly of the defender.
"I think the lad has got bags of potential, the right attitude and he can play at the back or in midfield," said the Highworth manager.
"The idea of a contract was to help him with his future and the interest of the Highworth club."
Adams said: "I am delighted to be offered the opportunity of a contract and I'm looking forward to doing my best for the club during the season."
