Ten minutes into the second half the home side received a setback when Wollen was caught in possession. The ball was quickly switched to Richard Evans, who scored from close range.

Midway through the half manager John Fisher brought on subs Dave Webb and Joyce, and the move paid off on 71 minutes when Webb volleyed in an equaliser from 15 yards.
