Chiseldon Castrol had a welcome change of luck when they defeated visitors Corsham Town Reserves 2-0 to record their second win of the season.

Manager Graham Clements was delighted with his side's efforts and said: "We have played well the last three games and have just got pipped by the odd goal. We worked hard and it was a good all-round team performance."

Ian McCarthy headed in a cross from Gareth Parry early in the second half and the same player got his head to another cross this time from Lee Ashby to seal victory for the Swindon side.

Castrol Reserve side ensured a good day for the club by beating Minety 4-2 in the Junior Division. Chris Harrison chalking up a hat-trick with Steve Bates getting a fourth. Willy Wood and Mark Harvey replied for Minety.

Last season's champions Shrewton United put an end to Aldbourne's fine run of league victories defeating the home side 5-0.

Shrewton started well and Shawn Collins crossed for Dean Foot to score. They added a second through Collins and Foot then scored from the spot.

Foot and Collins completed the scoring after the break.

Trowbridge Town pleased their followers with a 2-0 away win over Purton Reserves, Simon Kitchen netting a couple of minutes before the break and ten minutes into the second half Waleed Bakali chipped in from 20 yards.

Devizes Town Reserves put a stop to Marlborough Town's recent revival, beating the home side 3-0. Simon Drewett converted a penalty for handball and added a second finishing off a well worked move. Garry Campbell complete the scoring.

Premier leaders Stratton Crosslink were surprisingly held to a 0-0 draw by visitors Westbury United Reserves.

Cricklade Town did well to beat visitors Warminster Town 3-1 to move closer to the top of the section. Martin Curtis gave the home side the lead following a good cross from Steve Avenall, before Dave Parker added a second.

The visitors pulled a goal back but Ricky Mazzotta made sure of victory.

Melksham Town and Biddestone battled it out in the first round of the Corsham Print Senior Cup. Melksham took the lead in extra time through James Eatough only for Danny Jones to equalise with a couple of minutes to go. Biddestone came out on top in the shoot-out winning 4-2.

In the other first round tie Pewsey Vale knocked out second in the table Wroughton 1-0, scored by Mike Martin.

In the Intermediate section Wanborough United took over at the top of the table after beating Stratton Crosslink Reserves 4-0.

Richard Merchant gave United an interval lead, Neil Brimson, Paul Parsons and Kevin Smith adding further goals after the break.

United's Reserve side were also on form defeating Wootton Bassett A 2-1, Sean Walsh netting for the home side.

Alan Leng completed a hat-trick for Down Ampney in their 4-1 win over Blunsdon United.

Trowbridge Town Reserves and Dunbar Westside shared the points in a 1-1 draw, Ben Tilling for the home side and Ricky Hewittson for Dunbar.

Sherston picked up three points with a 2-1 away win over Biddestone Reserves, James Harris and Nick Panayides on target for the visitors.

Marlborough Town Reserves put an end to Wroughton Reserves 100 per cent record in the Junior section holding them to a 2-2 draw at the Weir Field.

Aldbourne Reserves made up for their senior side's defeat by beating Dunbar Westside Reserves 7-3 on their own ground, Paul Hinson (2) and Dave Amey for the home side and Matt Fryer (4), Rod Smith (2) and Will Walinder replying.

Cricklade Reserves beat West Swindon 2-1, Paul Tranter on the score sheet twice for the visitors.

Purton A gained a 5-0 away success over Blunsdon United Reserves, Adam Humphries (2), Simon Pugh, Mark Giles and Richard Preddy the scorers.
