SO, Swindon Council is about to embark on another great act of vandalism. Not the crime of neglecting buildings this time, no, let's cause havoc by council approved vandalism in cemeteries.
Funny how they are so cash strapped and short staffed when it comes to the mundane tasks like cleaning toilets, unblocking drains or clearing abandoned cars and rubbish from the town. By using the statistics of three children being killed in cemeteries, places they should not be playing in anyway, the council seem to overlook the dangers of abandoned cars and other hazards.
I suppose it is a case of can't be bothered to trace the owner of an abandoned car, let's push over a memorial to someone who has no living relations instead. There is enough of this type of vandalism happening in cemeteries, without it being done officially.
If people find family memorials damaged in any way by this latest unnecessary council exercise they should sue for damages. I know I will.
