MAKING a very late start to their season, Wootton Bassett Under 16s produced a fine performance to defeat Brockworth 34-0.
With the game minutes old, Bassett interlinked impressively from the kick-off, with captain Aston and Warren sending right wing Matt Hogg over in the corner.
Brockworth rallied, but Bassett bravely decided to run a penalty and no 8 Tom Fidler touched down.
To close out the half, scrummage pressure from props McGrady and Huggins allowed hooker Nick Moore to claim his first.
In the second half, Bassett again won good opposition lineout ball and with slick hands from scrum-half Daniel Cameron, full-back Karl Brant went close before Moore was again on hand to claim his brace.
The try of the game followed shortly afterwards, Cameron feeding Brant to score with a barnstorming run from 50 metres out.
Centre Oliver Gray scored wide right and the last two tries were converted to complete the triumph.
