DEVIZES lost their Southern Counties South unbeaten record as they went down 29-20 at Bournemouth.
The visitors did the hard work, scoring two tries into a stiff breeze to lead 15-9 at the break.
But the Saddlebacks were brought down to earth by a strong Bournemouth second-half revival.
After stretching their lead to 20-9 early in the second half, Devizes were subdued, allowing Bournemouth to dominate possession from which they shredded the Wiltshire side's defence to score three tries.
Bournemouth grabbed the lead from a penalty, but Sean O'Sullivan levelled with the boot before hooker Chris Billi was sin-binned for a touchline scuffle.
Bournemouth's second penalty restored their lead and a third made it 9-3 as their rolling mauls caused Devizes problems.
Little had been seen of Devizes' backs until Jona Manu carved out a break in midfield to set up Gareth Davies to score.
The conversion was missed, but when lock forward Jason Giddings sold an outrageous dummy to gallop over under the posts, O'Sullivan converting, the Saddlebacks were in the ascendancy.
Hopes were raised even further when no 8 Nav disrupted a lineout, kicked ahead and scored to put his side further ahead with half an hour to go.
But Devizes lost the plot and two tries took them into a 21-20 lead, another try late on sealing their comeback.
THIRTEEN-MAN Malmesbury were well beaten 57-5 by a co-ordinated Devizes 3rds, who had 14.
Having borrowed some player from their opponents, Malmesbury held their own early on.
But beset by further injuries, the visitors were eventually overwhelmed by their hosts' attacking play and were 40-0 down at half-time.
Nine tries were scored by Devizes, with Adam Twidell swereving run being Malmesbury's solitary score.
