I AGREE with Mrs Cuttings' letter about the 15 per cent extra tax we may have to pay.
If the council needs more money, why are most of the tenants in council flats and homes paying such a small rent.
I talk to these pensioners, and some tell me they pay less than £5 rent a fortnight, and they go off for several weeks holiday abroad.
They get all these outings and anything that's going free parties etc but because people own their own homes, nobody comes round to see if they want any of these perks.
This is not sour grapes, as I am fortunate to still have my husband but there are such a lot of widows living by themselves, paying dearly to keep their homes going.
Help the Aged does that not include people in their own homes?
All pensioners should be treated fairly.
