PRODUCTION at Honda's giant South Marston car making facility came to a halt for all of 30 minutes yesterday to mark the 10th anniversary of car production at the site.
About 3,000 of the company's 4,500 workforce were given time out, and a free canteen lunch, to hear managing director Akira Takano thank them for their hard work and commitment.
He said: "There have been many challenges in the last 10 years but you have proved time after time that you were ready to face these challenges and achieve the results.
"You have always worked hard and shown determination and spirit in difficult times. This has made me extremely proud of each and every one of you. So today I would like to thank you and congratulate all of you on your magnificent achievements during the past 10 years and wish us all every success for the next decade."
