A group of cows escaped from their field and ambled onto one of Swindon's busiest main roads. Drivers called the police after seeing about six cows on the verge and carriageway of the A419.
The animals were on the northbound side, between Junction 15 of the M4 and Commonhead Roundabout.
After the calls reached the police at about 12.55pm yesterday, officers closed both sides of the road for about 29 minutes while the cattle were rounded up and returned to their field.
