POLICE are seeking witnesses to two robberies in West Swindon which they believe were committed by the same gang.

The first happened at about 1.40pm on Sunday when two 14-year-olds walking from the West Swindon Centre to Shaw Ridge Leisure Park were approached by three men near the UGC cinema.

One of the men asked for cash. The youths carried on walking but the three males pursued them and demanded that they empty their pockets. The robbers took a total of £15 cash and a mobile telephone.

The second incident took place at about 3.30 pm near Pevensey Way Roundabout.

A 16-year-old boy had been shopping in Asda at the West Swindon Centre and was making his way home on foot when he was approached by two men who asked to see what was in his bag. When he refused, he was pushed backwards into the hedge and punched to the ground. One of the men picked up a CD and a rented computer game and walked off before discarding the items.

The suspects are aged about 19. The first had a large build, wore a green Parka jacket with fur trimmed hood, dark blue hat and jeans. The second had a small build, and wore a red jacket, jeans and baseball cap.

The third had a large build, was about 6ft tall, and had an eyebrow piercing.

Anyone with information should contact DC Jim Taylor at Swindon CID on Swindon 528111.
