SUPERMARINE Under 11s travelled to Wallingford to take on the hosts and fellow visitors Abingdon in a three-way event.

Wallingford and Abingdon opened up with the hosts winning 14-5, before Marine tackled the home club in game two.

The first half ended with no score, but Marine started the second period well.

However, they were slow to react to a Wallingford penalty, allowing the hosts to run through for the only try and conversion.

Against Abingdon, Marine made an excellent start. Good pressure from forwards allowed Mark Croucher to set up George Dibble for the first try.

However, strong Abingdon pressure brought them straight back with two scores and a third quickly followed before half-time.

The second half saw the determined Abingdon forwards dominate their lacklustre Marine forward line.

A fourth try followed before Supermarine responded late in the game with a good scrum putting Dibble through for his second try, converted by Louis Armstrong-Jones.
