Wootton Bassett's Under 14s returned to Oxfordshire League action after the winter break and defeated Haywood United 6-0.

In a lacklustre first half, Bassett had difficulty rediscovering their form. But after 15 minutes, Megan Brakes scored an individual effort picking up a throw in, dribbling into the area and slotting into the corner.

Instead of motivating them though, Bassett seemed to sit back on their laurels and were fortunate not to concede an equaliser.

The interval brought some harsh words and they started the second period in upbeat fashion.

Sarah Jane Thomas won the ball in midfield before sending Rosie Spalding clean through to shoot Bassett two goals in front.

Spalding was involved again to set up Brakes for her second of the game.

A fine passing move involving four players found Jodie Reynolds in front of goal and she made no mistake with the fourth after 20 minutes of the second period.

This was followed two minutes later by a Kelsey Johnstone piledriver.

Reynolds added a sixth in the latter stages.
