SWINDON Town Under 14s are through to the final of the Surrey Primary League Cup after a 4-1 victory over Aldershot Girls.

It was sweet revenge for the Town girls, who had been on the receiving end of a 4-0 thrashing from the Shots earlier in the season.

Aldershot pressed forward from the kick-off, with their forward movement causing the Town defence early problems.

Tara Lofts, sweeping up at the back, prevented the Shots from pressing home their early advantage and both Freya Keene and Leanne Gannaway made crucial challenges.

The midfield, led by Holly Burton, gradually started to put some moves together and, after a sweet move, Claire Moreton found space to fire a shot into the roof of the net to open the scoring.

Swindon started the second half determined to add a second and within five minutes they had.

Laura Allsop fed Smith on the right, and she turned inside her full-back to fire a shot into the far corner.

The goal clearly knocked Aldershot's confidence and substitute April Polden's winning of a corner led to the third.

Smith's right footer was not cleared and Moreton was able to fire home unchallenged in the six-yard box.

Town continued to push forward and Kerrie Keene jinked her way into the box before being fouled.

Up stepped Moreton to complete her hat-trick from the penalty spot.

Aldershot scored their consolation goal as Town pushed forward, substitute keeper Sally Anne Thompson just failing to keep it out.

Swindon now go on to play Portsmouth at the Surrey Primary League finals to be held April 27.

n TOWN'S Under 12s outfit stormed into the Wiltshire League Cup final by thrashing Trowbridge Town 8-1.

Town went into the match top of the league and unbeaten and repeated the score from their league clash with Trowbridge a few weeks previously.

Trowbridge had a couple of chances before Town went on the rampage, but Town's goalkeeper Nicky Butler made two good saves at the feet of the strikers.

After those early scares, Town took command of the match and top scorer Stephanie Lewis opened the scoring.

Before half-time, Town scored again through Chloe Bryant and Kerri Abbley to make it 3-0 at half-time.

Trowbridge opened the scoring in the second half, but Town quickly recovered and took control of the game with Lewis scoring a further two goals to complete her hat-trick.

Further goals by Libby Robinson, Emma Roberts and another one of Emma Skinner's long-range efforts rounded off the rout.
