WINNERS from the Wiltshire Junior Open Chess Championships included a host of children from the Swindon area.
A record 300 youngsters from around the country took part in the 17th tournament of its kind, held at Greendown Community School.
Holly Carter, from Ruskin School, Nicola Thomas, 13, of Wroughton, and Lewis Martin, 11, of West Swindon, took West of England titles this year.
Wiltshire Champions from the town were:
Boys under 18: Joshua Hall, 14, of Old Town.
Girls under 18: Nicola Thomas, 12, of Wroughton.
Minor champion: Kirsty Lafferty, 13, of Wroughton.
Boys under 12 and under 11: Lewis Martin, 11, of West Swindon.
Girls under 12: Shivani Jobanputra, 12, of Liden.
Boys under 10: Jack Cleeves, Lawn.
Boys under 9: Harry Cleeves, eight, Lawn.
Girls under 8: Holly Carter, Ruskin
Boys under 7: Adam Burroughs and Josh Whitehead, both of Lawn.
