A PAIR of thieves have raided a motorway garage three times in a fortnight, and one of them was wearing a jacket he had stolen on an earlier visit.

The duo first struck at Leigh Delamere's westbound petrol station on February 18, when they were spotted by a customer loading fleece jackets into their car on the garage forecourt.

A day later they were spotted snatching more jackets but escaped again.

In their third raid, on February 24, a customer reported seeing the men, one of whom was apparently wearing a fleece jacket, while they carried moreto their car.

Altogether the thieves got away with jackets worth £300 in a variety of colours.

Leigh Delemere service station manager Martin Bird said: "The thieves have struck at both our petrol stations, on both the east and westbound carriageways, each time escaping with the fleeces.

"Obviously we are determined to prevent this from happening a fourth time and we have changed the location of the fleeces to put them in view of our CCTV cameras.

"We have also security-tagged our stock and issued our staff with detailed descriptions of both men. We are confident that they will be caught if they try to strike again."

A Chippenham Police spokesman said that investigations are now underway to identify the suspects.
