YOUNG cyclists in Pewsey will be able to take part in the village's unique safe cycling scheme next month.
Pewsey is believed to be the only community in Wiltshire where the police run safe cycling courses.
Children aged ten and over qualify for the course to be run from the police station in North Street on April 22 to 25 during the Easter holidays.
Police officers and police station receptionist Diane Myall, a former special policewoman, will run the course.
The children will be taken to the Rawlins Road estate where they will be taught how to ride safely on the road.
The course is run in conjunction with the Wiltshire County Council's Road Safety Department.
At the end of the training each successful candidate will receive a National Cycling Proficiency certificate and a badge.
Previously, the Pewsey course has had a 100 per cent success rate.
Children who want to take part on the course should enrol in advance by calling at the police station between 9am and 1pm on weekdays, or by phoning (01672) 562222.
