AS a keen angler at Coate Water and surrounding waters, I am very concerned to see the public feeding wildfowl so close to the anglers. In doing this there is a very high risk of a hook or fishing line getting caught up in one of the birds.
I and other anglers keep a watchful eye on any of the wild fowl approaching lines, but when the public start feeding them so close to us when there are areas which anglers are forbidden to fish, then sometimes the unavoidable happens, so please have a bit of common sense when feeding the wildfowl.
I'm sure that, like myself, anglers and other members of the public do not wish to see any harm come to the birds.
