SKURRAY'S WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: STRATTON Crosslink and Wroughton both picked up maximum points to keep them in the frame for the Premier Division championship.

They also crept closer to leaders Shrewton United, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Trowbridge Town.

Wroughton were the day's highest scorers in the Premier, defeating bottom-of-the-table Malmesbury Vics Reserves 7-1.

Stuart Phillips struck for the home side, scoring twice in the first 10 minutes. Darren King followed up with a third and Dave Guthrie posted a fourth. Just before the break Jamie Richards netted a fifth.

Wroughton took their foot off the gas in the second half but still managed to score two more goals through Tom Dingle and Lee Smith, the Vics getting a last-minute consolation.

Stratton Crosslink dominated the first half against local rivals Aldbourne and had plenty of chances to have taken the lead in the goal-less first half.

Midway through the second period Martin Grounsell knocked a free kick back to Brian Blake, who scored the all important goal for the home side.

Cricklade Town and Purton shared the points in a 1-1 draw, Craig Tonkin scoring from the spot for Cricklade after Phil Corcoran had been brought down. With victory looking likely for the home side, Purton struck through Johnny Coule with just three minutes to go.

Biddestone's revival continued with a 6-0 success over Pewsey Vale Reserves, goals by John O'Meara (3), Steve Healey (2) and Rob Pocock.

Marlborough Town and Westbury United Reserves drew 1-1, Wayne Presley scoring for Marlborough.

Intermediate Division leaders Dunbar Westside gained a 3-1 win over Sherston to stay 10 points clear at the top of the table. Geoff Swatton (2) and Mark Connelly were on target for Dunbar and Nick Tanaidyes for Sherston.

Second-placed Wanborough United ran out 7-3 winners over Down Ampney thanks to four goals from Paul Parsons, two from Richard Merchant and one from Neil Brimson. Ross Kent (2) and Alan Laing replied for Ampney.

Calne Town Reserves gained a 5-0 away success over bottom club Blunsdon United, Steve Davies (2), Stuart Wallace, Pete Temple and an own goal doing the damage.

Shock result of the day was in the Junior Division section where league leaders Ferndale Rodbourne were beaten 1-0 at home by Chiseldon Castrol. Paul Aust made up for a first half penalty miss by scoring the winner on the hour.

Aldbourne Reserves, edging ever closer to the top of the table, beat Blunsdon United Reserves 3-1, with goals from Matt Fryer (2) and Will Inder.

Wroughton Reserves gained a 1-0 away win over Down Ampney Reserves thanks to a strike from Stuart Temple, and Cricklade Town Reserves were 2-1 winners at Bromham. Danny Powell gave the home side an interval lead, with Paul Tranter and Dave Devine scoring for the visitors after the break.

Wootton Bassett United gained a 4-2 success over West Swindon, Steve Thomas chalking up a hat-trick and Brett Reynolds adding a fourth. James Harman and Ryan Wheeler replied.

Dunbar Westside Reserves beat bottom-of-the-table Minety 4-0, thanks to goals from Andy White, Rich Jones, Paul Hinson and Mark Wilson.
