MORE CASH could be on the way to help Swindon.
South Swindon MP Julia Drown took part in a debate at the Houses of Parliament in to bid to bring more money to the town, which has one of the worst funded councils in the country.
The MP was speaking in a debate on new towns in Westminster Hall.
She said that, although Swindon was not classified as a new town, it had gone through similar experiences, "with huge population increases very quickly, without the extensive powers or direct grants that come from the Government".
"I wanted to raise this issue and urge the Government to take this factor into consideration when deciding on the issue of extra and continuing support for towns," she said.
