VICTIM support in Wiltshire is hosting a golf challenge to raise funds for its work across the county, and a Chippenham player is hoping to make it to the final.
Best Improved Junior 2002 at North Wilts Golf Club, Tim King, is the first local golfer to register interest in the National Victim Support Golf Challenge.
Tim, who is 15 years old, is aiming to get through to the Challenge finals to be held in Cornwall in September.
Money raised by teams will be used to support victims and witnesses who have to attend court in Wiltshire and Swindon.
Last year, more than 10,000 people in Wiltshire benefited from the work of Victim Support.
The group gets money from the Government each year but has to raise more than £100,000 from local fundraising events.
Deputy area manager coordinating the Challenge for Victim Support Wiltshire, Mary Platten said: "We are very excited by the golf challenge and have had a lot of interest already. We know that there are plenty of people in Wiltshire who enjoy playing golf and we hope they will take part in this event, helping us to raise the essential funds we need to carry out our work."
Keen golfers interested in taking part in the challenge must register by March 15.
