PATIENTS are to be trained how to deal with their medical conditions in a new programme being started in Bradford on Avon.
An internationally acclaimed Expert Patient Programme is being held at the Youth and Community Centre in Frome Road from March 12.
Two volunteer tutors have been recruited to help patients look at ways to deal with frustration, fatigue, pain, isolation; to get the right exercise for maintaining and improving strength; to manage symptoms; to communicate with family and health professionals; to learn about how diet and nutrition can help, and to evaluate their treatment.
Wiltshire's director of public health Dr Femi Oduneye said: "This programme is about improving the quality of life of people with chronic illnesses. It will empower them to take greater control of their condition."
