SUPERMARINE skipper Jamie Barrett has admitted that the Six Nations Championship is having an effect on selection at the South Martson club.

Marine entertain Devizes 3rd tomorrow, with a side of up-and-coming players and first teamers, including lock Mark Hoskins.

But Barrett reckons clubs may experience difficulties later on in the year when the Rugby World Cup kicks off in October.

He said: "It is so difficult when you have such a large Welsh or Irish contingent in a club such as ours.

"Everyone wants to see their country play at this time of year and it will be interesting to see what happens later in the year when the World Cup kicks off and fixtures need to be honoured.''

DEVIZES' first team take on the second string from Weston-super-Mare tomorrow.

The Saddlebacks' continuing injury crisis sees Ian Carter move back to openside flanker.

Ex-Camberly man Simon Orr makes his first team debut at loosehead prop, while wing Dave O'Sullivan moves to scrum-half.
