TWO regimental crests saved from the former Territorial Army centre in Trowbridge are soon to be displayed in the town.
The crests were taken from the building at Bythesea Road before it made way for retirement homes and are to be made into a permanent memorial in the town.
The town council hopes they will remain as the town's last remaining link to the army.
Cllr Osborn said: "People going past the site in the future would have no idea what used to be there and I think it is important these memories are kept for future generations."
The building once housed the headquarters of the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry and the last TA unit to use it was the royal signals.
It has been proposed the crests could be incorporated into the war memorial in the town park.
