ROYAL Navy officers are to deliver a multimedia presentation to explain the service's operations across the globe.

The public presentation will be held at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham on Tuesday, beginning at 6.30pm.

Royal Navy officers will be describing what their arm of the services does, the challenges it faces and its links with Swindon.

The team tours the country talking about the role of the modern navy.

Britain's armed forces face extra pressures in the wake of September 11, and the presentation is billed as reflecting this.

Commander Brian Warren OBE, the team's senior presenter, said: "The Navy costs the taxpayer £8billion a year, part of a £29 billion defence budget.

"It is important to explain how and why the money is spent."
