RELIANT, the makers of Del Boy's favourite motor, the three-wheeler Robin, have come up with a real congestion-charge buster and you can drive it at the age of 16. Reliant's Ape (pronounced App-ey) is classified a moped, and exempt from London's new £5 daily charge.
The Ape has three wheels, a driver's cab with two doors, and the choice of pickup or enclosed van body that can carry up to 200 kilos.
You can have either a 49.5cc petrol engine, or a plug-in-at-home electric power unit. Running costs work out at less than 1p per mile and it costs £2,675.
