I WAS very surprised to see the news about Gorse Hill losing its shopping centre.

Just because two or three businesses out of 144 are having a hard time, it doesn't mean we all are. The percentage is very small.

You can't compare trade before Christmas to trade after. You can only compare like for like.

I say give the lights a chance, they have hardly been in a few months. It was, after all, the people of Gorse Hill who wanted them and fought hard to get them.

At Jensons, we are doing better than in the same period last year. In fact, we gained 25 per cent of customer trade last week so: Leave the lights alone.
