SUPERMUM Sue Povey is thrilled with the arrival of her 15th baby and cannot wait to have another.

Weighing a healthy 6lb 15oz, Isabelle is settling into her new home and meeting her 14 brothers and sisters.

Sue, 43, from Grange Park, said: "I am over the moon. Having babies keeps me young, so roll on the next one."

Proud father Ian, 45, is equally pleased and willing to have more.

He said: "They say the first is always special. But I am still very chuffed with the 15th. If number 16 comes, that is fine. What will be, will be. You cannot interfere with mother nature."

The couple celebrate their 25th anniversary in July and live in a spotless, modern six-bedroom detached house. They share the house with 13 of their children.

Although Isabelle is currently sleeping alongside her parents, she will move into a freshly decorated nursery when she finishes night feeding. Sue said: "She takes after me in looks and is very placid and contented. I cannot get enough of her."

Sue puts her love affair with giving birth down to a lonely childhood.

With just one sister, Barbara, who is 13 years her senior, Sue longed for more company as a youngster.

"I was very shy and struggled to mix with other children," she said. "So I vowed to make it different for my own."

The Poveys receive £110 a week in family allowance which only covers around half their weekly shopping bill.

Ian, a £25,000-a-year systems analyst, pays for extras like ballet lessons and football boots. Sue said: "Ian is wonderful. After working all day, he plays taxi driver most nights."

Sue defends her burgeoning brood against any criticism. She said: "They all get plenty of attention and never want for love. We are like an extended version of the Waltons."

Tackling the housework is no mean feat. Besides cooking and cleaning, Sue does eight loads of washing each day.

So enthusiastic is she about expanding the family further, Sue is hoping for twins next time.

But although Isabelle's siblings are enjoying the new addition, they do not share their mother's ambition to have as many babies as possible.

Eldest daughter Rebecca, 22, said: "I have a two-year-old daughter, Caitlin. She is amazing and I would like to have more.

"But 15 sounds far too daunting."

And Charlotte, 19, had a son, Sam, three weeks ago.

She said: "I love being a mum. But two is my absolute limit."
